Newcastle University Outreach

On 26th April, we were visited by Pete and Anne from Newcastle and Northumbria Universities. They showed the children how chemistry is such an important subject and brought voting handsets so we could answer some of their questions. They explained why salt is needed to make icecream and even made some icecream to prove it! They explained why we need nitrogen to make crisps and carbon dioxide to make fizzy drinks. Our favourite demonstration was how to make elephant's toothpaste!
