Harvest Festival

Today was our school Harvest Festival. The children brought their donations of fresh and tinned produce which will be donated to the Butterwick Hospice in Stockton. It was a super service with all children contributing with their singing, poems, prayers and artwork. The service was tinged with sadness since it is the last school service to be led Reverend Jacques as he moves on to 'pastures new'. He was presented with a bunch of sunflowers, which he explained was a appropriate gift, since just like sunflowers, he tries to always face the sun and look on the bright side. The service was dedicated to Mary Butterwick who started the Butterwick hospice many years ago and passed away last week in the hospice she started at the age of 91.
