Mrs Honeywood

Mrs. Honeywood retired from our school today after 14 years service as a teaching assistant - working mostly with our youngest pupils. There will be many hundreds of children who have attended our school who will remember Mrs. Honeywood showing them kindness -especially if they felt unwell or had fallen over. We had a special assembly in her honour today and she was presented with chocolates and a lovely painting of Gainford, painted by local artist, Mr. Patrick Langton. Mr. Blindt read a poem for Mrs. Honeywood (below). We hope she will come back to visit us often. Thank you for everything Mrs. Honeywood!

  Mrs Honeywood

Who would help when you grazed your knee?
Who would cook from a recipe?
Who would treat you tenderly?
Mrs Honey-wood.

Who would pick you up when you fell?
Who would phone if you didn’t feel well?
Who would show you how to spell?
Mrs Honey-wood.

Who would hold you by the hand?
Who would tidy up when you’d played in the sand?
Who would help you understand?
Mrs Honey-wood.
